This photo was taken very near Mosquito Pass, which is the highest off-road pass in the United States, at 13,186 feet above sea level. On the far right is where Leadville is located. The mountain range in the distance is the Collegiate Peaks which is along the Arkansas River valley. The highest peak in Colorado, Mount Elbert, which stands at 14,440 feet above sea level, can be seen in the cluster of peaks in the Sawatch Range.

I can thank my mom for getting me into photography back when I was 13 in middle school in the small West Texas town of Snyder, Texas. I took an intro to black and white photography with darkroom work, and I was immediately hooked. I love the process of taking pictures, and love(d) the technical aspects of darkroom film development and enlargements. I had my own darkroom through high school, was on the yearbook staff, was Chief Photographer during my senior year. I took as many pictures as I could and had a photography business going. But then my senior year I discovered computers and went to Texas Tech and earned a Computer Science degree. Then got married, had kids, and yada yada yada, my oldest son is now graduating college, also...
